Plagiarism Policy
Energy Systems and Applications enforces a rigorous plagiarism policy to uphold academic integrity and promote original research. Comprehensive checks are integrated into every stage of our publication process to ensure the originality of all submitted manuscripts.
Plagiarism Detection Process
- Initial Screening: Each manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes an initial similarity check using a plagiarism detection software by the editorial board.
- Similarity Threshold: The acceptable similarity ratio, excluding references, must not exceed 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author without entering the peer review process.
- Single Source Limit: The maximum allowed citation rate from a single source is 3%.
- Block Quotations: Even if the overall similarity ratio is low, manuscripts found to contain significant uncited block quotations in any section will be returned to the author.
- Multiple Checks: Editors will conduct similarity checks at both the initial submission stage and after the peer review process to ensure sustained originality.
Author Responsibilities
- Authors are primarily responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted manuscripts.
- The editorial team reserves the right to request a plagiarism detection software report directly from the authors if deemed necessary.
- Authors are obligated to properly cite all sources used in their work, adhering to academic referencing standards.
Sanctions
- Manuscript Withdrawal: Any manuscript identified with plagiarism will be removed from the publication process immediately.
- Submission Ban: In instances of repeated plagiarism violations, authors may face a temporary prohibition from submitting future manuscripts to Energy Systems and Applications.
- Institutional Reporting: For serious plagiarism cases, the journal reserves the right to report the incident to the author's affiliated institution and relevant academic bodies.
Energy Systems and Applications is committed to rigorously implementing this policy to safeguard the integrity of all academic works published within our journal.
